To help you prepare to address these travel – crowded airports, well-attended festivals – the CDC has launched a campaign called National Travelers’ Health Public Awareness Campaign with the aim of helping people prepare for their travel and getting sick during the holidays.

The CDC encourages everyone to stay informed about what to do if you become ill while traveling and take the following steps when planning a trip:

* Travel only if you feel well.
* Wash hands frequently and carry a hand sanitizer Alcohol-based for use in the event that you do not have warm water and soap.
* Cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze with a disposable tissue or the inside of your arm, not your hand.
* If you are a person deemed high risk, when available, take the two flu vaccine: the vaccine against seasonal influenza and H1N1.
