Because the disease is not contagious, it becomes the cause of death in the world. &#8220;People should be vigilant to the disease is not contagious,&#8221; said Head of Prevention, Management and Environmental Disease Bogor City Health Department, Eddy Darma, Wednesday (7 / 12), while <strong>Non-Communicable Diseases</strong> Control Seminar in Bogor City Hall.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Eddy who was asked as a seminar speaker said, the trend of people with communicable diseases in the world growing increasingly. <strong>World Health Organization (WHO)</strong> estimates, in 2020 the cause of death from non-communicable diseases will reach 73 percent of all causes of death.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Eddy said to qualify as a disease is not contagious but it is dangerous heart disease, stroke, diabetes mellitus, cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Such diseases are usually caused by the behavior or an unhealthy <a title="Find natural remedy for insomnia" href="http://www.protectmifamilies.org/alternative-healing/find-natural-remedy-for-insomnia/" target="_blank">lifestyle</a> habits such as smoking man, consuming excess sugar, supine exercise, and consuming alcohol.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In the same occasion Administration Assistant for Social and Development Secretariat of the city of Bogor, Edgar Suratman said, in developing countries such as Indonesia, the pattern of a person&#8217;s death has shifted from infectious to noninfectious diseases.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Edgar conveys, from the data in 2010, stroke, high blood pressure and heart topped cause someone&#8217;s death. Where the cause of death from heart disease and <strong>high blood pressure</strong> reached 197 people and 119 people from a stroke. &#8220;They must have a <a title="Protect Families  Tips to protect and increase families healthiness" href="http://www.protectmifamilies.org/" target="_blank">healthy</a> lifestyle to avoid disease is not contagious,&#8221; he said.</p>

</script>People are quick to give advice to expectant mothers – cut down on caffeine, avoid alcohol, take prenatal vitamins – yet there’s one topic that is often missing from the conversation.  Gestational diabetes, a type of diabetes that occurs only during pregnancy, can cause high blood sugar levels that can threaten the <a title="Tips to protect and increase families healthiness" href="http://www.protectmifamilies.org/" target="_blank">health</a> of your unborn baby.  According to the <strong>American Diabetes Association</strong>, this condition affects about 135,000 pregnant women in the U.S. each year.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Gestational diabetes is more likely to occur in women who:</p>
<ul style="text-align: justify;">
<li><strong>are older than 25 years</strong></li>
<li><strong>are overweight</strong></li>
<li><strong>had gestational diabetes before</strong></li>
<li><strong>had a very large baby (over 9 pounds)</strong></li>
<li><strong>have a family history of diabetes</strong></li>
<li><strong>are Native American, Asian, Hispanic, African American, or Pacific Islander</strong></li>
<li><strong>have polycystic ovary syndrome</strong></li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: justify;">But there&#8217;s good news.  You can manage gestational diabetes by eating <a title="healthy food" href="http://www.protectmifamilies.org/tag/healthy-diet/" target="_blank">healthy</a> foods, exercising regularly and, if necessary, taking medication.  Taking good care of yourself can help ensure a healthy pregnancy for you and a healthy start for your baby.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Women with a history of gestational diabetes have a much higher risk of developing diabetes during the 5 to 10 years after they deliver.  If you had gestational diabetes, it is important to be tested 6 to 12 weeks after the baby is born, and at least every 3 years after that.  Women may be able to prevent getting gestational or type 2 diabetes in the future by reaching and maintaining a healthy weight, eating <strong>healthy foods</strong>, and getting regular physical activity.<span id="more-1277"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Mothers aren’t the only ones affected by this condition.  Children of women with a history of <strong>gestational diabetes</strong> are at greater risk for obesity, which puts them at risk for developing type 2 diabetes later in life.  Women with a history of gestational diabetes can help their entire family stay at a healthy weight by providing healthy meals and snacks, and encouraging their families to be physically active.</p>

Recent polls show that more than half of adults in the U.S. consume health <a href="http://www.protectmifamilies.org/tag/food-supplements/" target="_blank">food </a>supplements in various forms such as tablets, capsules, powders, soft gels, gel caps and liquids.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The increased consumption of health food supplements can be attributed to public awareness of <a href="http://www.protectmifamilies.org/" target="_blank">health</a> issues and improved standard of living in our society. Many studies have shown a strong correlation between health and nutrition. An insufficient supply of nutrients can weaken our body&#8217;s defense mechanism, causing medical problems common ailments to more serious illnesses over the long term.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There are different types of food supplements, health, including macronutrients (amino acids, proteins, essential fatty acids), micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), enzymes (digestive enzymes and antioxidant enzymes) , probiotics (beneficial <a href="http://www.protectmifamilies.org/disease/the-symptoms-and-stages-of-syphilis/" target="_blank">bacteria</a> in the gut), and herbal supplements. These supplements have unique functions in our body. Or are essential for life and good health, modulate the immune system or to assist with liver detoxification, digestion, mental clarity, etc.<span id="more-792"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Many people argue that there is need to consume health food supplements, provided you have a healthy lifestyle and eat a balanced diet. While this may be true, the fact is maintaining a healthy lifestyle and proper diet is difficult to achieve for many people.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In recent decades, the green revolution has changed farming practices in the world. We use <a href="http://www.protectmifamilies.org/sitemap/" target="_blank">more</a> chemical fertilizers, more pesticides to grow the food produce in order to increase harvest and shorten the growth period. As a result, soil nutrients and the population of beneficial soil bacteria are depleted rapidly, and the products we grow today contain less micronutrient than before.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">A stressful lifestyle, improper eating habits, imbalanced diet and increased exposure to chemicals and environmental pollutants (air, water) and pesticides, drugs, hormones, metals heavy foods also weaken our body gradually.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Although health food supplements may be beneficial to our health, consumers should choose products with care. Currently, there is little regulation on food quality health supplements. Composition of some health products for food can not match the technical specifications and quality of raw materials and finished products is not guaranteed. Therefore, consumers only buy from manufacturers of natural food from reputable, read labels carefully and read related literature.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Here are some general rules for the purchase of health supplements foods:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">1) Supplements made from whole foods , natural sources are better than the synthetics. They are more bioactive, can be readily absorbed and less likely to be contaminated by chemicals such as coal tar used in chemical synthesis.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">2) protein bonded vitamins and minerals (vitamins and minerals in organic form, binding to amino acids) are more bioactive than the inorganic forms.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">3) Buy supplements using safe extraction methods, such as cold pressed extraction or supercritical extraction. This can prevent the harmful residues of chemical extraction.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">4) Herbal concentrate and extract are often more effective than raw herbs.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">5) organically grown or wild crafted herbs are less likely to be contaminated by heavy metals, pesticides and other chemicals.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">6) Read the labels, do not consume more than the recommended dose.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">7) Use caution when consuming certain herbal supplements such as Ma Huang / ephedra, kava kava, comfrey, etc. Some studies have shown that these herbs can cause side effects serious to some people. Stop use if unusual signs after consumption.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">8.) Some health food supplements may interact with drugs, either decreasing or increasing its effects. Consult your doctor if you are taking any medications.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">9) Pregnant and nursing women, people with specific medical conditions such consult a doctor when the food they consume health supplements.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">10) When in doubt, contact the manufacturers or distributors for more information complement their products.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">11) Health food supplements are available in many places, such as grocery stores, food stores, drug stores, pharmacies, supermarkets, department stores, online, etc. Be smart consumers compare the price and service before purchasing.</p>
